As a Head of Specialty Services , you will lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of a centralized organization providing essential services to support our largest Clients, our Service teams and implementation teams.
Every day, you will oversee critical national onshore and offshore functions such as: Case Management, Payroll Partners Support, Beyond Payroll Support, General Ledger Implementation, Custom Reporting, Tier 2 Support. Uses business acumen and analytical skill to formulate and implement business strategy related to retaining clients and achieving growth.
This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery to our largest clients, driving efficiency, and aligning service teams with overall business goals.

What you’ll do: Responsibilities
What you can expect on a typical day:
Oversees the overall operation of the Specialty Services group. This includes the implementation of new business and all other aspects of service delivery. Acts as the ultimate escalation point for any service or implementation related issues. Ensures that the business meets or exceeds targets for operational and financial metrics including but not limited to profitability, revenue growth, client retention, quality, and associate retention.
Directs the identification, analysis, and development of business cases for new business opportunities, and service model optimization. Recognizes service, industry, and market trends. Responds with changes to business processes and procedures.
Creates a high-performing team environment that supports/reinforces associate accountability, development, and retention. Coaches and develops leaders to improve current performance and builds bench strength for the future. Serves as a mentor and prepares associates for growth opportunities.
Provides direct leadership to approximately 300 associates globally. Specialty leaders across the globe focused on Production, Quality and Service of Specialty products for mid-market and upmarket/enterprise clients.
Identifies opportunities for continuous business improvement and ensures they are addressed appropriately. Provides direction and feedback to support organizations (Business Innovation & Shared Services, Product Development, Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc.) regarding business processes, rollouts, and other business requirements. Ensures that the needs of the department are met by the supporting organizations. Partners with senior sales leaders to successfully resolve escalated issues and create a highly productive selling environment.
Develops annual budget recommendations including headcount plan, productivity goals, and other expenses. Makes decisions regarding investments in infrastructure, processes, and people.
Approves expenditures within established guidelines and controls expenses.
Sets and communicates strategic goals for the group. Develops tactical plans to reach these goals. Engages leadership in the communication of the Service vision. Translates vision into meaningful associate messages and regularly communicates with associates at all levels of the organization.
Performs other related duties as assigned including but not limited to participation on business councils, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, alliances, stretch assignments, and collaboration opportunities with other business units.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements
7-10+ years in senior management experience.
Excellent planning and organizing skills with ability to effectively direct/lead the business unit's overall service operations to maximize revenues and profits. In-depth knowledge of financial practices. Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, leadership and organization skills. C-Suite experience, possessing responsive and concise communication skills, both verbal and written
Prior experience developing and executing strategic plans.
Basic understanding of financial management reporting including P&L/Revenue required. Past P&L responsibility preferred.
In-depth knowledge of payroll operations, business consulting, and/or solution center operations strongly preferred.
Must be able to develop and test business hypotheses to continuously improve the business. Must also be able to make fact-based decisions using available data.

MBA or advanced degree.
Advanced learning via leadership development program/association bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required.
