Position Title: Technician Program – Entry Level Manufacturing Engineering Equipment Technician

Summary of Role :
GLOBAL FOUNDRIES Fab 9 is seeking skilled and motivated candidates to participate in the GLOBAL FOUNDRIES Maintenance Technician Program with Vermont Technical College. To be selected for the program, successful candidates must pass through a panel interview process for the educational portion of the position, a set of interviews with maintenance shift managers for an assessment on your technical aptitude and competence, and pre-testing (math) administered by Vermont Technical College to be considered. Candidates will be expected to work full-time while attending one Vermont Technical College course per semester, for 3 semesters per year. The program consists of 9 total Vermont Technical College Technical Courses all paid for by GLOBAL FOUNDRIES. The program offers internal technician skill-based courses and on-the-job training. Candidates accepted into this program, with successful completion, and satisfactory performance, will receive a certificate of completion, and will attain 33 credits towards a 2-year Associates Degree in General Engineering. Opportunities exists to continue education through GLOBAL FOUNDRIES Tuition Reimbursement Program.
A candidate will be performing preventive and first call maintenance to support semiconductor equipment and its support equipment. Ability to execute and perform Quality Standard Work and provide leadership in continuous improvement to improve equipment productivity. This person needs to be flexible and dependable to meet business demands on equipment. This position is in the 200mm factory in Essex Jct., Vermont and is a shift position working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts, which could be a day or night shift depending on business need. GLOBAL FOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.
Successful Manufacturing Technicians are self-motivated and work effectively in team or individual situations and demonstrate flexibility regarding assignments, work content, and work area.
Essential Responsibilities :
Operate equipment; Execute preventive and first call maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
Successfully Participate in GLOBAL FOUNDRIES Technician Program
Effective communication skills and ability to work within a tightly coupled team.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
Required Qualifications :
Education – High School Education or equivalent, or High School Tech Center Education
Travel – 0-5%
Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands –
Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per shift schedule
Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements
Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
Ability to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues

Expected Salary Range
$34,300.00 - $55,000.00
