Provide prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients to city hospitals for the Albuquerque Ambulance Service of Presbyterian healthcare Services.

*Provides prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients to city hospitals.
*Maintains current working knowledge and certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
*Maintains positive communications and collaboration with Emergency Department physicians and staff regarding the definitive therapy administered to patients being delivered for emergency care at their facility.
*Documentation of patient care using ChartWriter 2000 computerized patient documentation system. Documents and maintains an informative and accurate medical record and initiate charges for each patient treated.
*Assists in cleaning and maintaining emergency supplies and equipment for the department. Assists in providing preventive and/or routine maintenance to emergency vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety.
*Assists in the instruction of Emergency Medical Services students to provide for positive work related experiences.
*Maintains current working knowledge and certification in defensive driving techniques.
*Attends departmental staff meetings and/or in-service educational programs and keeps current with developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops and/or publications.
*Participates in and endorses the established Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) guest relations program.
High school diploma or GED plus trade or vocational school in paramedicine. Current NM Paramedic License required. One to three years experience in EMS preferred. Current valid New Mexico driver s license is required. Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Ability to type 20 wpm preferred. Basic MS Windows computer skills preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older with a driving record insurable per PHS policy

SKILL-Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person and via telephone with members, employer groups, brokers, physicians, and physician office staff using strong dialogue and customer service competencies.
