What will be your key responsibilities

  • Lead the Digital Apps team within Global Technology Development Services / Digital organization, comprised of Digital Web Developers; support core development resources to be effective, manage the team with high engagement.

  • Responsible for establishing and driving activities that contribute to planning, budgeting, resourcing, creating, and implementing a development strategy for technology aligned with ADM Applications’ Platforms strategic business plan.

  • Responsible for the overall Digital applications development and support within scope. This role is specifically focusing on customer facing Applications (web, desktop, mobile).

  • Responsible for interacting and coordinating with multiple technical and functional teams, determining priority of work for staff, and reporting on overall team performance with respect to metrics and releasing state of art value to the market.

  • Direct the Digital Apps Center of Excellence and set best practices (COE), development strategy, technology roadmap, development standards and implementation effectiveness. Educate and coach team members as well as partners so they meet standards effectively, with customer engagement and quality as guiding principles.

  • Ensure the team articulates business requirements and plans technology architecture and solutions in line with to leverage digital needs. Partnering with both business as well as development and infrastructure operations teams to support implementing strategy to leverage key digital assets within the realm of ADM branding.

  • Ensure the team is a technical point of reference in the partnership with business teams and their public facing line of support, provides technical support and drives technical maintenance of the solutions in scope.

  • Supports and creates colleague objectives with follow through, ability to coach and mentor colleagues to their best or optimal performance.

  • Be on the watch and future ready to set ADM at the best level at all times.

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent with a minimum 8+ years of job experience in IT.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead/manager role and technical experience required.

  • 3+ years of experience on agile digital assets service delivery management being preferred.

  • 7+ years in complex, diverse and/or enterprise technologies to be leveraged for strategic development and high quality user experience for our customers.

  • Provide deep, technical expertise for the given technology to learn / understand key integration points and technical components.

  • Assume full ownership of issues in your space, and support the development and BAU teams.

  • Understand and follow ADM IT processes in performing all day-to-day activities.

  • Provide technical input in support of audit requests, as needed.

  • Follow all regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Experience with one or more modern Front End frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.).

  • 3+ years of experience in front-end technologies including, but not limited to, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, SASS, XML.

  • Experience with Back-end frameworks (.Net, Java, Python), Databases (SqlServer, Oracle, PostGreSQL, mariaDB, Mongo, Cosmos) and integrations .

  • 3+ years of .Net or Java / SqlServer or PostGreSql experience being preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience of Git related source control best practices.

  • Experience with leveraging DevSecOps CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, DevOps, Github).

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (eg. ARM, Terraform) and operations automation practices (eg. Rundeck, Ansible, Powershell).

  • Experience with hosting technologies and web server configuration (eg. Apache, IIS, proxies).

  • Experience with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) to deliver artifacts.

  • Experience of Web Services, XML, XSD, SOAP, JSON, REST, OPENAPI and ODATA Services.

  • Experience with an ITSM (eg Service Now) and backlog management tools (eg Devops, Jira).

  • Experience setting up / writing unit, integration, and end to end tests.

  • Relevant Technical architect background in cloud based solution/services to provide application delivery into cloud environment, Azure being preferred.

  • Knowledge of Security Standards - SSL, PGP, Encryption, SAML, OAuth etc.

  • Knowledge of major communication protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP, TCPIP, JDBC, JMS etc.

  • Knowledge of web performance best practices (eg. GTMetrix, CDNs CloudFlare/CloudFront).

  • Knowledge of UX/UI best practices and tools (eg. Figma).

  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices (eg. WCAG).

  • Knowledge of Services Oriented Architectures, RESTful Interfaces & Enterprise Application Patterns.

  • Partner with other teams, organizations, and colleagues to identify and implement continuous improvement practices

Soft skills

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a proven track record of leading through change, and in a fast-paced complex environment.

  • Ability to tell your team’s story and leverage metrics to identify how the team is performing.

  • Ability to technically drive development and operations resources, potentially outsourced.

  • Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies, and passion to deliver quality solutions both individually and as part of a team.

  • Solution focused and ability to navigate in a matrixed / ITIL processed environment and with competing priorities. Maintains a positive work environment through teamwork & conflict resolution.

  • Ability to understand the big picture with respect to our goals as an organization, and how we can position this team to achieve them.

  • Timezones and multicultural awareness and interest, as well as Change Management.

  • Comfortable in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills, independent self-direction coupled with team collaboration, and open communication. Knowledge of the principles & patterns of Agile software development.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to achieve business objectives – 10-15%.
