Role Profile
Position: Production Specialist
Job Location: Erie, PA
Job Type: Full-Time
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Role
This position is typically responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and may include assembling and manufacturing gaskets and sealing products. The role includes operation of machinery including fabrication monitoring and quality control to meet specifications.
Responsibilities
Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
Prepares and delivers vendor managed inventory items to customers as needed.
Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer’s standards
Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instruction
Maintains productivity standards
Perform all tests specified by the attached “Test Certificates” as specified in the Work
Ensure all testing equipment (pressure Gauges) are calibrated before each use
Submit all completed work to management for receipt into inventory
Maintain all shop locations in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
Must sign off on In-Process Inspection Report. Stamp Assembly Certificate of Compliance if tested internally
Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse.
Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping
Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts (if applicable)
Assists with physical inventory
Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
Performs other related duties as required
Skills and Abilities
Applicants should possess the ability to interact with team members in a professional manner.
Must have good communication skills
Requires basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure.
Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
Basic computer skills preferred, including email and internet
Ability to operate or learn to operate basic machinery as well as more advanced machinery such as computer controlled CNC-type fabrication equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
1-2 years of related warehousing or production experience
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
Reliable transportation is a must
Ability to work overtime, as required
Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs independently on a repeated basis.
Ability to consistently move throughout the facility during the full workday
Ability to comprehend work instruction and safety procedures, written or verbally
Ability to count and measure accurately
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment
Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and handtools
Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial setting experience
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
Requires ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
