UPMC welcomes your application for a full-time Medical Assistant, Senior! This position features a Monday to Friday dayshift, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with no weekends or travel required. Responsibilities:

• Supervise and delegate tasks to clinical staff, ensuring efficient workflow.

• Support management in supervisory activities and contribute to goal setting and process implementation.

• Mentor and train new and existing staff, serving as a departmental resource.

• Act as the Epic Care super user for the department.

• Collaborate with management to identify and implement improvements in clinical and non-clinical functions, infection control procedures, and patient assessments.

• Conduct regular meetings to communicate procedural changes aimed at enhancing service quality and patient safety.

• Perform clinical tasks proficiently and responsibly, adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.

• Manage patient records, including medical documentation, appointment scheduling, and front office responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT)

• OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA)

• OR at least 1 year of patient care experience

• Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks.

• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
