The HVAC Technician, under general direction and/or using detailed procedures and/or work instructions, perform simple and routine tasks or tests within, but not necessarily limited to, the area of HVACR maintenance work. May provide limited on-the-job assistance to lateral and lower-level technicians for work on simple/routine or more complex assignments. Work may be evaluated while in progress and upon completion. Duties will be varied.

Perform the following activities under specific direction in accordance with established procedures:

• Assist with or perform maintenance of high and low pressure steam heating system as instruction allows.

• Assist with or perform installation, servicing and repairing environmental-control systems as instruction allows. Ex: Check belts and change filters

• Assist with or perform mounting of compressor and condenser units on associated auxiliary equipment and components, using soldering and braising techniques; install motors of 5 hp or less.

• Perform minor maintenance using oral and/or written instructions on HVACR equipment as qualified and licensed. Perform other site support tasks incidental to the HVACR maintenance task assigned.

• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least four years of job-related experience or equivalent.

• Position may require a thorough knowledge in the particular area of specialization plus a broad knowledge of other disciplines such as general math, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, biology, etc.

• Good written and spoken communication skills, working knowledge of word processing and software applications. Knowledge of applicable state and Federal laws and company policy and procedures.

• Must have applicable CFC/EPA certification such as Section 608 Certification (Universal).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
