Job Description:

Lead design of overhead distribution projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers under the direction of a licensed professional engineer. Develop and prepare distribution design packages for overhead and projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, and new feeder design. Develop and prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials, and other required deliverables. Perform various distribution calculations, including voltage drop and pole loading calculations. Apply strong knowledge of NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures. Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Perform field inspections for distribution facilities on public and private utility systems. Prepare and disseminate project communication regarding vegetation management, third-party attachments, right-of-way, and outage planning. Develop client presentations, reports, and visualizations to demonstrate technical results and project status. Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met. Participate in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits. Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance. Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates. Primarily domestic travel required up to 25% for internal meetings and project or client site visits. Telecommuting permitted 30 days per year.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology*, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus eight (8) years of electrical engineering experience.

*A Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Technology field must be accompanied with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Must have at least eight (8) years of experience with the following:

Microsoft Office Suite. Electrical engineering principles. Overhead electric transmission or distribution system design. Computer-aided design (CAD) software and drafting tools for developing system schematics, layouts, and construction plans. Transmission or distribution pole loading analysis software.

Must have at least four (4) years of experience with the following: Overhead electric distribution system design. Project management tools and techniques for managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Safety regulations and standards for electric transmission or distribution systems, including OSHA, NESC, and IEEE standards.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited program, plus seven (7) years of electrical engineering experience.

Must have at least seven (7) years of experience with the following:

Must have at least three (3) years of experience with the following:

$126,547 -$190,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus pr
