Sierra Nevada Corporation Director of Maintenance (DOM)- Straight Flight in Englewood, Colorado
Are you looking to use your expert aircraft maintenance and leadership skills in a Part 145 operation? We could use your expertise on our team!
You will be responsible for oversight of 40+ personnel working under FAA Part 145 Repair Station performing aircraft routine maintenance and heavy repairs. You will act as a direct liaison with the FAA for the repair station and must understand and effectively apply FAR Part 43, 91, 135, 121, 145 regulations. You must be proficient in all aircraft manufacturer’s support manuals to allow complete research into inspection packages and will be responsible for determining corrective action(s) and reporting the status of regulatory compliance for Straight Flight’s FAA Part 145 & EASA Part 145 certifications.
The DoM will have heavy customer contact with communication on pricing and schedules. You must be capable, comfortable, and enjoy working with computers since the position requires this ability. This is not a desk job and requires mobility on and around an aircraft in maintenance status.
Must-haves:
Bachelor's degree in related field•Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Technical License (FAA Certification) – A&P required
Minimum of 12 years practical experience with FAA regulatory paperwork
Experience in airframe, propeller, and engine (turboprop, turbine) systems is required to understand complete maintenance packages
Understanding of aircraft manufacturer's Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Structural Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins is a must
Must understand FAA Airworthiness Directives and FAA Form 337
Demonstrated knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements including EASA regulations
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required, Pentagon 2000 preferred
Ability to travel, including foreign travel, while expected to be minimal, may be required
Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
Familiarity with FAA regulations, policies, and procedures
Proficiency in aviation safety standards, safe operating practices, aircraft maintenance and inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, the ability to present data to leadership in an effective manner and conflict resolution skills
Preferred:
Demonstrated experience in running an aircraft maintenance facility is preferred
Experience with Gantt charting is desired
Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification and Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
