iM3NY Controls Engineer in Endicott, New York
Imperium3 New York, Inc. (iM3NY) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Controls Engineer. This position will join our engineering team to support the establishment and growth of our battery manufacturing facility.
Imperium3 NY dba “iM3NY” is a startup Lithium Ion battery cell development and manufacturing company with HQ and high-volume manufacturing plant located in Endicott, NY. We have an advanced LMP cell that incorporates patented Bio Mineralization to create an industry leading BMLMP cell. We are well positioned for expansion in the future by a well-conceived product road map with advanced chemistry for Gen 2 and Gen 3 products that are in advanced stages of research and development.
Job Duties:
Lead automation and control efforts to develop and maintain battery facility and individual equipment
Co-develop and implement an industry 4.0 manufacturing execution system for battery cell manufacturing
Design and implement automation and controller improvements to existing equipment
Interface with OEMs and partners as the controls lead and liaison
Maintain equipment controllers, HMIs, and data collection including troubleshooting, repair, and long-term sustainment

SKILLS REQUIRED
Deep knowledge and expertise in Allen Bradley hardware and software
Familiarity with C++, ladder logic, and Mitsubishi controllers. Familiarity with Trumpf laser control, Epson robot control, G code and HMI interface controls a plus
Source code creation and modification
Controls hardware design and hands-on construction and maintenance
Familiarity with Keyence, Honeywell vision systems (integrated equipment metrology)
Industry 4.0 data analysis and representation
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, teamwork driven environment to both participate as well as lead projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2-5 year experience in automation, controls, and/or manufacturing
Minimum 2-year engineering related degree in controls
