BAE Systems Aircraft Electrification Supervisor in Endicott, New York

Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

This position is for a combined supervisor and production controller role for the Aircraft Electrification Development Manufacturing area in Endicott, New York. The selected candidate will have responsibility for managing an assembly team of approximately 8 people with plans to grow to at least double in 2025. Duties include but not limited to ensuring manufacturing schedule is met, resource/labor planning, hiring personnel, developing team members, administering performance reviews and hosting daily schedule standups and shift handoffs.

In addition to supervisor responsibilities the selected candidate will also perform production control tasks for the energy storage system top level and subassemblies. The candidate will also be expected to work closely with the engineering support team to help solve problems that arise to ensure adherence to development schedules.

Production control responsibilities include:

  • Working with Operations Program Managers to plan and execute development schedules.

  • Coordinating with material planners to ensure inventory accuracy and expediting part requests.

  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.

  • Works closely with Quality Control to ensure that any non-conforming product is controlled.

  • Ensure product is shipped according to development milestones.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 4 years work experience in a Manufacturing environment OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members

  • Ability to lead a team through difficult situations including customer interaction

  • Comfortable leading discussions and speaking in front of others

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer databases to acquire data for processing (FLX, Oracle)

  • Ability to apply problem solving skills in a fast paced dynamic environment

  • Understanding of Engineering Change Order

  • Excellent Time Management / Multitasking Skills to meet deadlines

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience working in a High Voltage/High Power environment

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Ability to plan complex build schedules

  • Oracle Database experience

  • Power BI experience

  • Lean Training

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $71600 - $121700

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
