This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/jobs/12835751 his position supports the summer program in Lyon County by providing quality one to one direct support and supervision to agency clients, with the intent to assist individuals in developing social and behavioral skills for successful functioning, attending and succeeding in educational endeavors, and preventing or reducing out-of-home placements and hospitalizations.
Essential Functions
Provides direct psychosocial group services to child clients, up to the age of 18 years of age, in an effort to teach individuals to develop appropriate behaviors and personal attitudes for successful functioning at home, school, and in the community.
Monitors clients in the group for appropriate behavior and safety, with close guidance and supervision to the approximately four clients assigned specifically to his or her care.
Assists program staff in facilitating weekly trips to off-site locations.
Transports individuals to and/or from various locations as required by specific work assignment.
Designs, prepares, and leads the program curriculum for a specific developmental skill to be taught to the children in the program.
Maintains accurate and complete records of all client services, as defined by state licensing agencies, funding agencies, and CrossWinds standards and requirements. Submits all work-related paperwork in a timely manner and in acceptable format as determined by agency requirements.
Motivates program clients to achieve and improve individual social skills by creating a positive model for them to emulate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects; grasp and reach for items with hands and arms; manipulate hands and fingers; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Language skills are required, including the ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak the English language. This position also requires the ability to interpret written materials, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present and respond to questions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part time position that requires staff availability from Monday Friday between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Actual hours and days will vary. The tentative start date for this position will be mid May, and the summer program will run from June 3rd - August 2nd, pending availability. Additional workdays may be expected for orientation and training, completion of paperwork, and possible meetings.
