Tracking Code 217664-072 Job Description Position Title: Operator, Machine A Pay Status: Hourly Department: Operations Position Relationships: Supervised by: Varies By Department Supervises: N/A Essential Functions: Proficiently operates machines within department while applying various operations Works closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Tool Room in solving job-related problems Assists others with set-up of machines Effectively uses computerized Information Center to retrieve product/process information Effectively uses Smart Team Application to verify prints and revision levels Performs required ISO first/last piece part inspections visually or with gauging equipment and inspection tools Visually inspects material during the machining process to prevent defects and scrap Responsible for quality of finished product Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement Assists with training of others Strict compliance to FDA and ISO control standards and record keeping Adheres to all safety policies Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary Maintains safety and housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles Complete all required training applicable to assigned position Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required. Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent 2-4 years of manufacturing or machine operating experience Must be able to perform set-up operation Power Press certification may be required Lockout/tagout certification may be required Basic math skills Basic computer skills preferred Basic blueprint reading ability Demonstrated ability to read gauges Must be able to use both hands Ability to lift up to 20-30 lbs. Ability to stand for 8-10 hours Will be required to lift and manipulate large dies Bending, twisting and/or squatting may be required Demonstrated flexibility in attitude and willingness to work in all areas as needed Demonstrated ability to understand follow work instructions Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work overtime with little or no notice Ability to be cross-trained Effective verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of quality standards to apply visual inspection Knowledge of proper problem-solving skills Ability to communicate basic information regarding processes and quality related questions Must have thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance including ISO Overview, corrective/preventative actions and work instructions Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job Job Location Elyria, Ohio, United States Position Type Full-Time/Regular An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer --M/F/Disabled/Vet
