Chemung Canal Trust Company Regulatory Risk Associate in Elmira, New York

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the Regulatory Risk Department including BSA, Compliance, CRA, Fair Lending, & Security (physical and IT).

  • Performs various record-keeping and operational functions of the company’s BSA department including new account processing, negotiable instrument and cash shipment reviews. New account processing includes reviewing information on Know Your Customer documentation for suspicious information and quality of data received.

  • Conducts OFAC scan of all bank customers to review potential matches; conducts bi-weekly 314(a) review for potential matches.

  • Prepares CTRs for filing with FinCEN.

  • Monitors and validates BSA/AML Software imports.

  • Conducts due diligence on low, moderate and high-risk clients.

  • Analyzes alerts generated by the detection software for suspicious activity and makes the decision to open an investigation.

  • Works with Compliance officer on compliance reviews as assigned.

  • Works with CRA / Fair Lending officer on CRA and Fair Lending reviews as assigned.

  • Conducts daily security functions for proxy cards, keys, and security logs, etc.

  • Acts as a backup to staff to meet required regulatory deadlines.

  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Conforms to General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Previously held an office position – data review, analysis, project management, and Microsoft Excel experience.

  • Good communication skills – oral and written, professional email experience required.

  • Organization skills with regards to project management.

  • High School Degree, Associates Degree preferred

  • Ability to work independently with limited direction from supervisor.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Salary Range $17 to $26.50 Hourly
