Kennedy Valve Co. is a gray and ductile iron foundry and computerized machining and assembly operation. We supply fire hydrants and valves to the water works and fire suppression industries. We have been manufacturing these products in Elmira, New York, for over 125 years.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, assist with maintenance planning, training, safety, special projects, and scheduling work. This position requires supervising and coordinating work of employees such as repair, maintain the building/facility, and production machinery/equipment in the facility with the potential for alternating rotation of 1st and 2nd

JOB DUTIES

Work directly with Maintenance Manager, and Maintenance Foreman.

Make appropriate recommendations for corrective actions based on hazards, procedural discrepancies, deterioration of equipment, schedule maintenance activities, update PM's for efficiency and improvements.

Consult with Production Operations to determine production needs and maintenance support.

Plan daily and weekly activities of maintenance department.

Coordinate emergency repairs and monitor maintenance parts, and materials as needed for emergency repairs.

Develop long range preventative, routine maintenance, and training plans for employees.

Perform the following audit types: Parts Audits, PM Audits

Job Planning to include cost summaries, parts requisitions, equipment modification and outside contractor support as needed.

Monitor and enforce safety and housekeeping practices including hazardous waste disposal.

Directly involved in new hire process for department, coaching employees, and progressive discipline.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Five to Seven years supervisory experience or five years maintenance experience in a Machine Shop.
Certification or technical degree in related area preferred.
