Pacific Air Forces Production Controller in Elmendorf AFB, Alaska
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Elmendorf Community Services Flights on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Regular Full-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Community Services Flight Chief and Deputy Flight Chief, is the Flight focal point for Material Management (Motor Equipment and Facilities). Serve as Flight level Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) processing and submitting all required documents and data to the Squadron VCO in a timely manner. Oversees vehicle training and licensing for Community Services personnel. Reviews vehicle utilization records for compliance with mileage equalization policies. Prepares and reviews written and oral reports and acts as necessary concerning such matters as vehicle utilization, turn-in, replacement, damage, loss, rotation between users, and accountability. Maintains records and files as they relate to vehicle maintenance and history. Utilizes and maintains Material Handling Equipment (MHE) equipment to include truck mounted snowplows, forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, banding equipment, power and air tools. Maintains a government purchase card for the purpose of purchasing vehicle parts and supplies. Serve as an alternate facility manager. Process work orders through the 773 CES. Evaluate, plan, and execute facility maintenance repairs. Determines and selects the most appropriate course of action to accomplish each phase of the work in the most productive and cost-effective manner. Ensure that required materials are on hand or obtained prior to initiating work. Work cohesively with the onsite facility providing guidance and technical knowledge when necessary to complete detailed tasks. Assists with property accountability and annual inventories. Coordinate the delivery of assets from vendors to the various Community Services facilities. Ensures physical safeguards, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained within flight operations. Complies with environmental directives pertaining to handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Work experience must include enough knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance sufficient to detect and recommend corrections to unsafe, inefficient, and/or improper safety and serviceability issues. Requires computer aptitude and working knowledge of business software. Requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, crawling under vehicles, and working in tight spaces. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
