The Role: The Academic Advisor's primary role is to deliver individual academic advisement to students in the Teacher Academies program and who have decided or have an intended major in the College of Education and Professional Studies. This position provides undergraduate advising regarding CWU's Teacher Academies program, general education curriculum, university requirements, as well as the major and minor degree programs offered within the College of Education and Professional Studies. The position also acts as a liaison to assigned Teacher Academy schools and works with the Teacher Academy team to support campus visits. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment. Job Duties Academic advising for Teacher Academics and School of Education programs in the College of Education and Professional Studies - Proactively manage a caseload of undergraduate students within the College of Education and Professional Studies, conducting academic advising, providing timely interventions, and making appropriate referrals, as necessary. Advise students about general education and pre-major or major requirements. Advise prospective and incoming transfer students. Guide students in developing a plan of study that meets degree requirements and fits their timetable for graduation. Involves assisting students with course articulation and recommending appropriate academic course loads and course selections. Help students make informed academic decisions teaching them how to track their own academic progress, locate and interpret appropriate policies, and to utilize the tools and resources available. Conduct audits on student progress toward degree completion. Analyze and interpret student data, transcripts, and placement results, as well as university policy and procedure
