Patient Care Associate ( PCA ) - Full Time - Day Shift - Emergency Dept Req #: 0000124432 Category: Nurses Aide Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Facility: Trinitas Regional Medical Center Department: Emergency Department Location:WILLIAMSON STREET, 235 Williamson Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 JOB SUMMARY- Trinitas Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the state with more than 73,000 emergency visits annually. Our newly renovated Emergency Room has a total of 45 treatment rooms with separate treatment areas for families, children and seniors.PCA's perform a variety of routine and advanced patient care tasks under the direction of nursing staff to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients,They perform a variety of clerical and technical tasks as assigned,Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients,Perform approved dressings and wound care;participate in nutritional activities; assist with personal hygiene; assist with ambulation; assist with bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients- Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.) - Completion of related technical education course, on-the-job training or completion of Fundamentals in Nursing course. Ability to perform all competencies is required for employment in this position. Phlebotomy and CPR certified within 6 months of employment in the emergency dept.- Work Experience Required - One year of nursing assistant experience is preferred.
