Description

We are looking for a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our client's team in the manufacturing industry, located in Elgin, IL. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be accountable for various monthly activities, fixed asset accounting tasks, and assisting in audit and tax reporting processes. This is a long-term contract role with potential to turn permanent. Interested candidates must be willing to work 5 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development of monthly journal entries and upload financial data to relevant systems.

• Ensure the accurate preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.

• Be accountable for recording and reconciling intercompany transactions.

• Manage fixed asset accounting activities and maintain fixed asset data in relevant software.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of SOX controls and audits.

• Provide assistance in audits performed by internal and external audit firms.

• Complete required schedules requested by the Corporate Tax department.

• Develop and provide required tax reporting such as for sales/use tax, business tax, etc.

• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within the Accounting/Finance departments.

Requirements

• Possess strong skills in Account, Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliation

• Extensive knowledge of General Ledger management

• Ability to handle Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close, preferably in a manufacturing setting

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
