The Inside Sales Engineer, as a support to the field sales team, interacts with customers, operations and sales engineering to drive sales opportunities for new and existing products to new and existing customers, respond to requests for quotation and secure orders while providing the best possible service to customers of the Electronic Interconnects and Packaging (EIP) Business Unit. This position will manage customer accounts including RFQs and price quotes . The successful applicant should be a self-motivated individual who is excited to be an integral part of a growing organization.
Track status of customer pipeline and backlog, proactively reaching out to customers when they need to re-order.
Process incoming RFQs.
Prepare price quotes based on cost and gross margin targets and in coordination with field sales and sales engineering.
In coordination with the Sales team call on prospects and customers to solicit RFQs or orders, utilizing personal calls, phone or written communications as appropriate. Overcome objections and get orders and/or RFQ’s.
Address the customer’s and prospect’s problems and challenges with the field sales team and the relevant departments of the Business unit to develop solutions in order to meet their needs.
Work with the field sales team and the sales engineering teams at assigned factories to develop new products and capabilities.
Prepare supporting documentation for pricing reviews with management.
Provide quotations to prospects and customers.
Coordinate the follow-up of quotations directly with customers or colleagues in the field sales team.
Manage Return Material Authorization requests in accordance with defined processes .
Keep customers informed of lead times and expected delivery dates
Coordinate and communicate with field sales, manufacturer’s representatives and with other company departments regarding customer status and issues.
Manage compliance with government import / export regulations.
Maintain records in compliance with company requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 5 years of experience in an industrial business-to-business sales role.
Technical education and / or experience is preferred.
Proven sales track record and expertise in the personal selling process, especially overcoming objections and closing on the sale.
Fluency in English, French and German
This position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Technical knowledge of electrical connectors and microelectronic packages used in Aerospace and Defense applications is a plus.
Expertise and accuracy in computer data entry.
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects in support of customer and business needs.
Highly developed personal organization and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in an environment of changing priorities.
Ability to deal with conflict in a professional and constructive manner.
Ability to participate and contribute to group meetings.
Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, CRM and ERP / MRP systems.
This position will be located in either the Toulouse area or Elancourt
