Advanced Software Technologies are critical to Raytheon’s Space and Intelligence Systems’ strategic business areas. Our Space Programs lead the industry in demonstrating the speed and agility required for next generation responsive space missions. We are seeking an experienced Software Integrated Product Team Leader (IPTL), committed to innovative, cost-effective solutions in support of a small / medium size program within the Space Systems Mission area. The candidate will provide engineering leadership for development, integration, and verification of complex systems.
A successful candidate will also need to augment the software team’s capabilities by assisting in development activities such as document preparation, requirements development and Matlab script creation/execution. An understanding of the full software development lifecycle would be beneficial. Technical support of the software development effort is required as the IPTL work will not account for 100% of a candidate’s time.
Technical leadership, system architecture, advanced verification system development, verification planning and coordination, assembly, preparation, and maintenance; troubleshooting; installation & checkout; software integration; IV&V; test data reduction and analysis.
Will administer technical reviews; provide guides to engineering; coordinates designs; leads day-to-day operations; and represents engineering on the program team.
The IPTL will drive effective application of SOFTWARE Engineering to sensor products, and technologies.
Financial and Schedule metrics including Cost Account Management (CAM) which includes the following but not limited to understating processes apart of program startup, managing Integrated Master Schedules with Budget allocation, WBSs, Earn Value, EACs, LREs, Variance Analyses, Scrum/Agile development, Software Development plans.
Dynamic individual that can multi-task among multiple programs
Collaboration with Engineering Task Leads, Program Managers, Finance and Planners in weekly and monthly cost and schedule reporting
Assess, monitor, and update Risk and Opportunity for assigned scope
Monitoring, drafting and approving Baseline Change Requests
Weekly interaction with finance managers to communicate financial objectives
Monitoring of cost and schedule trends
Identification and analysis of staffing needs against budget and schedule
Experience with full software life-cycle (development, implementation, test, design and overall architecture)
Experienced in system IV&V and T&E
Experience with risk management
Experience building relationships and partnering with resources, team player, demonstrated interpersonal skills
Proficiency in analytical skills, strong written and verbal communicator
Manages multiple tasks and priorities
EVMS, project execution and financial responsibility for system development and sell off
Program planning and execution
Minimum 10 years of experience in Software Engineering with strong experience in leadership and execution
SCI with in-scope (5yr) SSBI
Top Secret with in-scope (5yr) SSBI.
Ability to access US only data systems
Performing analysis using MATLAB/Simulink or similar platform
Government customer knowledge
Knowledge depth of radar systems
Experience in development and management of cost accounts and schedules
Understanding of military standard specification as applicable to remote sensing systems
Experience in C/C+
- Experience with Test Development Environments (LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, TestStand)
Experience with Interfaces: GPIB, Spacewire
Experience writing Software Requirements Specifications and Preliminary design development
Experience with software test activities
Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with Space Flight test and Integration
Experience with software implementation of timing and controls
Experience with Built in Test (BIT) implementation
Experience with Configuration Management tools
Experience with tools such as RHAPSODY, JIRA, VectorCast, and GoogleTest
Experience with automated test tools, techniques, and practices
Understanding of software development best practices and processes
Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
Required Education: Bachelors degree in STEM discipline from an accredited University required
