Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineer (ATS) in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in El Paso, TX.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

This is a unique opportunity to lead the effort to build a new operation as production in El Paso gets started. This role will be the lead in designing the manufacturing and office layouts and helping to ready the new facility for production. Once production has begun this role will be the ME accountable for continuing to improve the facility and drive more efficiency as we ramp up volumes and bring more products into the plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate and establish manufacturing cost, quality plans and investments in new and redesigned components or procedures.

  • Create manufacturing processes, layouts, routings, and drawings.

  • Investigate, analyze, and recommend alternate equipment and manufacturing methods.

  • You will procure equipment and tooling per project plans and Eaton standards.

  • Provide technical assistance to customers as requested.

  • Resolve manufacturing problems using statistical tools and continuous improvement methods.

  • Participate in product process design reviews.

  • Investigate and initiate cost reduction programs.

  • Evaluate and verify processes and tool designs completed by peers

  • Assist suppliers with processes to improve quality and cost

  • Develop and summarize capital appropriation data and narratives for projects

  • Generate machine and production process capacity and capability studies

  • Implement, promote, and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of zero accidents including prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control, and administer risk and danger in own area and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing processes or engineering function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in manufacturing

Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in LEAN and Greenbelt Tools

  • Effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, develop employees and facilitate corrective action while fostering an environment that supports Eaton values & philosophy.

  • Change agent with strategic focus and executive command

  • Ability to work in a highly unstructured and ambiguous environment

  • Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in ETO processes and engineering methods.

  • Extensive knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA Standards.

  • Excellent Design Software (CAD) and engineering tool knowledge and skills
