Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide patient care under the direction of the RN, using the nursing process, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments and supplies needed for surgical cases.

• Communicates, interacts and participates in teamwork on the unit.

• Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.

• Demonstrates knowledge and respect of the patients’ right to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality.

• Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the Registered Nurse.

• Assists in the delivery of non-narcotic medications in labor and delivery. This is accomplished as a non-interruptive single task from one point to another.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Ethics/Compliance: Performs all duties ethically, complying with all policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws.

• Environment of Care: Demonstrates accountability in role and responsibilities of the 7 Environment of Care plans.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

• High School Graduate / GED

• Intermediate level position. Minimum of 2 years experience in the same setting required.
