Major/Essential Functions:
Provides instruction within the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts classroom and practicums for students.
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.
Reports directly to assigned programmatic assistant dean, associate dean, or the dean of the school of nursing.
Maintains academic standards, as established by the school and the university.
Assumes responsibility for and/or participates in the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.
Provides academic advising/counseling to assigned students.
Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school, program, course, and student activities.
Plans professional development activities for self, others, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc.
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties.
Maintains membership in and participates in professional associations by serving on local/state committees of professional organizations.
Incorporates new knowledge and methodologies in assigned courses.
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
Contributes to the community through academic-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.
Performs other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
D.N.P. or Ph.D. in Nursing
Education, training, or experience in nursing and healthcare leadership, management, and operations.
Knowledge of curriculum and instructional design and implementation.
Achievement in scholarly and research activities.
Experience serving as an officer in a nursing professional organization.

Required Qualifications:
M.S.N. required
Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or compact state recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing
Two (2) years of undergraduate teaching experience in a nationally accredited nursing program
