Amergis School Credentialed RN in El Monte, California

Are you interested in helping out our school districts? Do you have a passion with pediatric population? The School Credentialed Registered Nurse identifies and treats health disorders among students and provides instruction in the maintenance of good health and disease prevention. The School Registered Nurse evaluates the physical conditions of students and refers students to appropriate resources as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Dr's orders for both General and SPED assessments

  • Assesses and evaluates the health & developmental status of pupils

  • Performs health counseling to include: crisis intervention, drug and alcohol addiction, etc.

  • Interprets health and developmental assessments

  • Designs and implements individual student health maintenance plans

  • Refers the pupil, parent, & guardian to community resources

  • Maintains communication to promote needed treatments

  • Interprets medical and nursing findings

  • Consults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person

  • Develops and implements the health education curriculum

  • Participates in implementing health instruction curriculum

  • Counsels & assists pupils & parents in health-related adjustments

  • Teaches health-related subjects under the supervision of a classroom teacher

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid RN license

  • Valid Credential for School RN

  • Valid BLS certification

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Bilingual is a plus
