DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of a Highway Sign Worker, your primary responsibility will involve the identification and installation of directional signs along state highways. This will entail not only locating the appropriate spots for these signs but also ensuring they are securely installed. Additionally, part of your duties will involve the replacement of broken signposts and damaged signs to maintain the safety and efficiency of the highway signage system.

Another aspect of the position will involve the maintenance of the area surrounding state highway signs. This will include tasks such as cutting weeds to ensure visibility and accessibility of the signs. Furthermore, you will be responsible for painting crosswalks and parking stalls in compliance with environmental protection regulations, contributing to the overall safety and aesthetics of the highway infrastructure.

As a Highway Sign Worker, you will also be expected to perform skilled tasks related to the upkeep of various types of signs. This may involve repairing, cleaning, and ensuring the functionality of the signs to guarantee their effectiveness in providing important information to drivers and pedestrians. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols will be crucial in carrying out these responsibilities effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Shift work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a painter's helper or other work leading to journeyman skills in sign painting; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
