THE WORK

Position Assignment: F-35 Training Operations Manager to be located at Eielson AFB in Alaska. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team to fulfill F-35 training objectives at Eielson Air Force Base

This management position supports military pilots’ flight procedures in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. CIP will provide pilot training using the F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS). The instructor will primarily operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F-35 training and continuation training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed. Candidate must maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access. Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment. Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Additional responsibilities:

• Anticipated travel is approximately 10%

• Employee engagement: Provide performance feedback to employees and engage with them on career goals and development.

• Configuration Management: Overseeing implementation of updates/upgrades and closeout of applicable documentation.

• AS9100 Compliance: Ensure site is operating within the guidelines and has all necessary tools, documentation, and training required to be successful.

Basic Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a fourth or fifth generation fighter pilot/instructor pilot and/or training instructor.

• Candidate must have active secret clearance and be able to qualify and hold a SAP clearance

• Final clearance adjudication within the last five years.

• Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft training operations.

• Candidate must have prior experience in delivering military pilot academics and simulator training and be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.

• Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.

• Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.

• Position requires demonstrated leadership skills and extensive professional experience in managing operations personnel supporting customer mission readiness at dedicated training and operational installations.

• Must be a proven leader with management style aligned to LM core values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives.

• Must have experience in evaluating personnel's performance and in completing performance appraisals.

• Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience as an F-35 Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP) or F-35 Pilot Subject Matter (SME) experience.

• 1000+ hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft.

• Demonstrated knowledge of PACAF and AK flight rules, procedures, and operations.

• Demonstrated knowledge of F-35 tactics, techniques, and procedures.

• Familiarity with F-35 tactics, techniques, and procedures.

• Familiarity with Pacific theatre customers and mission.

• Familiarity with F-35 program requirements.

• Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
