Summary About the Position: This position serves as an engineering technician with the Edwards AFB Resident Office located on Edwards Air Force Base, California. Responsibilities This position is developmental to the full performance GS-11 grade. At the full performance grade, the employee will: Prepare design revisions to plans, specifications and cost estimates, or independently evaluate those prepared by others (i.e. project engineers, mechanical/electrical specialists, suppliers solutions). Assist with change orders for a variety of projects requiring considerable adaptation of precedents or designs. Review contractor proposals and/or user requests for additions, deletions, modifications, or other contract changes. Prepare construction cost estimates. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) performing contract administration for construction projects, 2) assisting in reviewing cost estimates, 3) preparing Quality Assurance (QA) reports, AND 4) utilizing financial platform and/or contract administrative systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Contract Management Manages and Organizes Information Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
