Starting Salary:\$24.07\$26.34(depending on experience)

About this Position

The Technology Services Technician installs and maintains computer hardware and software in the Police Department, but it is not a basic IT technician job sitting at a computerassignments will change every day, and their responsibilities directly impact a Police Officers ability to perform their duties. This IT Service Technician job will also train users and assist with operational issues inside the department. Accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills are essential. Incumbents will operate on a rotating on-call schedule up to 1 week at a time (24 hours a day).

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to end users on all computer issues

  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems

  • Respond to telephone calls, e-mails, and personal requests for technical support 24 hours a day as needed

  • Compile and maintain inventory of all technology-related hardware in the department

  • Install and maintain new and current computer hardware in the department

  • Train and support users on the basic operation of software

  • Troubleshoot, document, and maintain the department\'s computers and software systems

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the department\'s in-car video system and body-camera system

Qualifications

  • General knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training
    • Orequivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver\'s License and a driving record acceptable to the City\'s insurance carrier

Necessary Skills

  • Ability to provide technical help, basic software support, and database analysis
  • Ability and willingness to operate on a rotating on-call schedule up to 1 week at a time (24 hours a day)
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
