Robert Half Payroll Manager in Edison, New Jersey
Description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 2,200 employees for our client in the Edison area. This role includes leading a team of two direct reports and ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. Must have experience with ADP.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in special initiatives, including system upgrades, policy enhancements, and strategic projects that impact payroll operations.
Manage payroll systems, employee records, and reporting processes to maintain data integrity and support business operations.
Ensure timely submission of payroll-related tax filings and compliance with unemployment tax requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll vendors, resolving system or service issues and ensuring optimal performance.
Collaborate with internal departments, including HR and IT, to enhance payroll system functionality, troubleshoot issues, and improve workflows.
Lead process evaluations and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Supervise and support payroll staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Oversee the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Provide guidance to employees on payroll policies, procedures, and system access.
Leadership & Team Management:
Directly manage and mentor payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
Assign and monitor tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies.
Conduct performance reviews, recognize achievements, and address challenges proactively.
Requirements • Must possess knowledge and experience in ADP - Financial Services.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is a crucial requirement.
• Demonstrated understanding of ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is essential.
• Must be adept in using Ceridian payroll software.
• Experience in Crystal Reports is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with 401k - RRSP Administration is important.
• Proficiency in using About Time software is required.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions is essential.
• Must have a background in Auditing.
• Experience in managing Benefit Functions is required.
