Job Title: Environmental Construction EstimatorJob Description

This position reports to the system Estimating Manager. The desired candidate will pull together resources from within (labor, equipment, stock materials), as well as outside vendors, supplies, and subcontractors, to put together bids and proposals for our various customers. These customers are largely comprised of engineering and consulting firms, as well as general contractors, utilities, and manufacturers. Periodic travel throughout the mid-Atlantic region may be required but will be primarily focused in the NJ-PA-NY area for site visits, customer meetings, and seminars.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review RFPs from customers and inside sales reps.

• Visit sites to assess site conditions and access issues.

• Determine the manpower, equipment, and material needed to perform a wide range of scopes of work required for the projects, including collaboration with the operations department.

• Develop relationships with and obtain costs from various suppliers, subcontractors, and disposal facilities.

• Write proposals with the technical approaches, cost schedules, and assumptions, as well as complete more formal bid documents provided by engineers.

• Prepare bid submittal documents.

• Prepare turnovers to operations for awarded projects with all contact information, scope descriptions, and other details necessary for project managers and crews to perform the work.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years as an estimator creating bid packages and proposals independently.

• Experience in environmental remediation or earthworks projects that deal with DEP regulations.

• Experience conducting site walkthroughs and interfacing with clients.

• Proficiency with Blueprint and Estimating software.

• Strong construction estimating and pricing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to construction, engineering, geology, or environmental science is preferred, but applicable commensurate experience will be considered.

• Pertinent seminars and continuing education programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00
