An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Team in a Regional Account Manager role in the Scotland & North East of England territory.

Essential Duties and Job Functions – Promotional

  • Represents Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base across the Scotland & North East of England territory.

  • Utilizes a level of HIV product and therapeutic disease working knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.

  • Together with territory team partner prepares business plan, assigns activity and communicates required actions to achieve goals. Prepares territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures to drive outcomes in business plan and is accountable jointly for spend.

  • With guidance, initiates systems to monitor progress and business plans and can present regular performance updates both verbally and in writing.

  • Represents company at professional events and promote company products at such events.

  • Works cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, Regional Market access, Marketing, Standard Support Services and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific accounts or physicians.

  • Builds and extends business relationships with key customers or within accounts building customer engagement journeys through an omni-channel approach.

  • Assists in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities and communicates proactively to marketing and sales management.

  • Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating account plans in Teams, reviews ICF, expenses etc.

  • Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role.

  • Complies with all regulatory agencies and company SOP’s to required standard at all time.

This role will ensure clear separation between promotional activities and non-promotional activities.

Essential Duties and Job Functions – Non-Promotional.

  • Utilise knowledge and experience to support HCP’s to identify gaps between their performance and national clinical standards (BHIVA/NHIVNA)

  • Utilises credible levels of HIV therapeutic disease working knowledge to promote better standards of care for People Living with HIV

  • Develop and deliver HIV education programmes supporting HCP’s to understand the importance of long-term health in HIV through 1:1 and meeting activity.

  • Utilise knowledge and experience to support HCP’s implementation of best practice standards and health assessments into all HIV care.

  • Develop, approve and deploy appropriate resources to support service improvement.

  • Generate ideas for Gilead to help create new targeted education programmes.

  • Work in collaboration with outside partner organisations/staff to support HCP’s.

  • represent Gilead at professional events and promote service improvement at such events.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects.

  • Build and extend relationships with key customers to enhance delivery of care through supporting audit, education, and service improvement.

  • Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses, G360 (Gilead call reporting system) .

  • Complies with all external regulations and laws and all internal policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Must be self-motivated but also able to work successfully with a territory team partner on the Gilead HIV portfolio.

  • Previous pharmaceutical hospital account experience is essential and relevant therapeutic working knowledge is desirable.

  • Proven expertise in interpersonal and relationship building skills is required.

Specific Education and Experience Requirements

  • Typically requires a BA or BS degree and minimum of 2 – 5 years of highly successful selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Professional qualification including but not limited to HCP/ AHP

  • Prior experience in appropriate therapeutic area desirable but consistent achievement of sales and account working more important.

  • Demonstrable evidence of project management and service redesign and improving outcomes for patients, either as a healthcare professional or in a similar role.
