As the Lead Software Engineer, you'll lead a growing team of talented software engineers. The Cloud Workbench team are building a ground-breaking platform to enable & accelerate innovation across data science and analytics teams globally within Optum.

Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on all aspects of the Site Reliability Engineering discipline, driving reliability into various systems requiring support
Mentor Engineers growing into an SRE practice, focusing on methods to drive reliability and influence design & direction
Execute and guide execution of specific tasks through various application work streams to drive best-in-class operational support
Drive results through increasing reliability of the platform and failover capabilities
Contribute & influence platform Devops teams as they work towards maintaining 99.99% reliability targets, and beyond
Lead change and innovation - pursue opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive adoption to enhance business outcomes
Drive and mange high-quality execution across organizational lines
Grow and maintain knowledge of and leverage cutting edge IT industry/marketplace technologies and trends to support highly available distributed systems, and the transformation of legacy systems
Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve software
Identify opportunities for automation of manual processes
Engineer innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
Ensure scrum teams are complying with best practices for CI/CD with a DevOps mindset, including automated build, test, and deploy pipelines, and integrating with Sonar for code quality standards
Coach the development team on software development best practices
Work closely with the architecture team to drive solutions

8+ years of experience leading teams and/or managing IT Project timelines and deliverables
7+ years of professional IT experience, with steadily increasing responsibilities
6+ years of experience designing and building highly distributed, scalable systems
Experience planning and supporting +99.99% availability against critical applications in production
Experience with DevOps methodologies and enabling Automation within development teams
You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location

5+ years of experience working with GitHub and/or GitHub Enterprise
5+ years of experience developing and maintaining RESTful web services, Jenkins, Java Micro services, Spark, Big Data Cloud era and HDInsight, Apache Beam
3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes
2+ years of experience working with ServiceNow or any other equivalent

Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
