We are seeking a motivated individual to lead our innovation & data science team developing facial and fingerprint deep learning based technology for incorporation into novel biometric sensors and solutions. Your primary focus will be the conceptualization and development of neural network based inference engines for deployment into the product portfolio. As the leader of a small, multi-disciplinary and cross functional technical team, you will guide pre-product innovation activities, conduct proof-of-concept experimentation, and provide communication to management enabling transfer to commercialization. As our Director of Innovation, you'll support HID's successby: Leading and mentoring the data science team developing image/tensor pre-processing algorithms, neural networks, LSTM, and fusion centric inference engines Managing the data acquisition, organization, training, and validation activities Teaming up with engineering to tailor models for cross platform deployment including embedded NPU's and cloud services Teaming with management, external partners, and key stakeholders for technology adoption What we will love about your background: Technology leader and subject matter expert for biometric authentication products targeting mobile, cloud, and logical/physical access control systems Expert level knowledge and product development experience for application of deep neural networks (DNN) for supervised learning including model training, deployment, and performance optimization Experience using scripting languages such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, Onyx with Python, OpevCV, DLIB, OpenCL etc. Demonstrated success in research environments implementing data science centric image processing and inference engines with emphasis on biometric modalities YourExperienceand Education include: Ideal candidate will have 10+ years relevant professional experience Minimum BS (MS Preferred) degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent Product development experience with facial/fingerprint biometric authentication preferred Team leadership roles in cross functional environments consisting of computer and data science with electrical/software/optical engineering support Who you are as a Leader: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Hands on development and lead by example for proof-of-concept experiments Good interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, and continue to grow professionally Strong team player Proactively seek to adopt and implement diversity into your work, value different backgrounds, experiences and thinking, embrace creating and nurturing a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The base salary in the California area is $218,000 to $240,000. This opportunity may be open to flexible working arrangements.
