The Salvation Army Northwest Division Summer Night Shepherd/ Program Aide in Eatonville, Washington

Description GENERAL DUTIES: Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities. Assist with evening cabin supervision and devotions as needed. Assist with break day duties as assigned Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer. Any other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director or Assistant Camp Administrator. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Safety and Supervision Enforce camp policies and procedures Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times. Patrol the camp grounds in the evening through the earlier morning hours. Weekly Responsibilities Along with another assigned camp staff member, monitor the campgrounds each night as assigned. Log and report any camp staff of campers seen out after curfew Secure all buildings and log anything out of place of left unsecured Check all areas of camp and log each round Dismiss Night Watch from cabins each night in a timely fashion Call local sheriffs office if anyone from off camp is seen on grounds during the night Work on special projects as assigned. When not patrolling at night, fill in as a camper supervisor for activities such as free time Provide support to the recreation team by covering shifts as able Provide support to the counselor staff by helping to maintain good camper supervision. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
