ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Ocmulgee EMC. This document does not create an employment contract, implied, or otherwise, other than an "at will" employment relationship.

  1. Responsible to Board of Directors for entire business operation which includes key areas of power supply, financial condition, market position, energy conservation, service leadership, productivity, member relations, public and government relations, employee development and relations, organizational structure, and environmental considerations.

    1. Responsible for selecting and rewarding Ocmulgee EMC's employees in order to (a) Assure a high level of productivity (b) Assure best use of individual and group capabilities (c) Assure continuity consistent with the cooperative's present and future needs.

    2. To provide direction for capital investment and to continually review and control the investments of the cooperative.

    3. To present the EMC's operating budget to the Board of Directors and upon approval, to monitor expenditures in order to have the cooperative follow the approved budget and control costs.

    4. To formulate cooperative policies and objectives and to ensure their effective implementation.

    5. To supervise, guide and advise Ocmulgee EMC's staff in the resolution of significant problems and questions that affect the achievement of the cooperative's goals and objectives.

    6. To develop and coordinate plans which identify and analyze opportunities that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation of the cooperative.

    7. Responsible for long-range planning and financing of the Cooperative.

    8. Responsible for the compliance of policies, procedures, practices, operations, legislative rules and regulations in order to protect the interest of the Cooperative.

    9. To assure that all distribution and related facilities are constructed, operated and maintained in ways that fulfill consumers' energy needs in economical, reliable ways.
