Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Certification, Validation, & Compliance (CVC) function within LM Engineering & Technologies. You will be reporting to Director Test Engineering. LM’s CVC function operates some of the most advanced accredited full scale rotor blade and rotor test rigs in the industry and holds an IEC RETL (Renewable Energy Test Lab) approval for full scale rotor blade testing.
As Senior Engineer in Certification, Validation & Compliance you will manage the technical requirements between new product development projects and our full-scale blade test laboratory. Being responsible for the successful initiation, detailed planning, design, execution, control and evaluation of full-scale blade test projects and development of state-of-the-art test methods and equipment, you will be the go-to person for everything involving technical validity, timeline, and documentation.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
You will work cross functionally with Sourcing, Engineering and Testing Service Providers as part of the product development cycle supporting internal and external customers with on-time delivery of test specifications, method design, equipment implementation and reporting of test outcome.
Your responsibilities will be:
Acting as technical support for the test team on test design approach, IEC 61400-23 compliance, equipment use, data analysis and conclusions
Bridging CVC to rest of organization by stakeholder management and technical alignment.
Develop test teams technical skill set by mentoring, review and training
Drive document quality reviews to meet department KPIs
Test project scoping and detailed planning
Drive development of test and equipment design
Secure equipment is manufactured and implemented according to specifications.
Execute planned test in internal test facility as well as at external test service providers.
Track and report on projects progress
Technical review of test reports for certifying body
Test method owner ship including development and implementation of new processes and procedures.
Identify and qualify suppliers and sub-contractors relevant for full-scale blade testing through auditing of technical capability and state of quality systems.
Required Qualifications:
M.Sc or B.Sc in Mechanical engineering or other appropriate fields
- 12 years of relevant work experience
You have a strong theoretical background and are an "out of the box" thinker with development mindset for new methods and test equipment.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
Rigor in execution and operational excellence. Structured technical hands-on person comfortable coordinating at workshop level.
Great work ethic focused on projects and delivering business value. Thrive with teamwork as well as individual activities.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel.

It is an advantage if you have:
Experience with experimental mechanics of composite materials including static and fatigue loading of structures.
Experience in finite element analysis of composite structures
Expert user of AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent
Test experience from other competence areas
Project Management skills
Experience with MS Project
Experience with industrial scale measurement equipment
Familiar with ISO 17025, IEC 61400-23 and IEC-RE requirements
