Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with an East Syracuse client of his to hire a Senior Accountant for a newly created role they have due to growth. They're looking for someone who wants a job that's more than just debits and credits. You'll be involved in operational accounting duties. This multiple location, for profit, organization also has a path for your professional growth too. Work life balance is good here too and benefits are solid. It's a low turnover company.

Responsibilities:

• Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.

• Reconcile financial accounts such as bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts.

• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies promptly and efficiently.

• Work closely with operations and the sales department on new project investment, analysis and capital allocation.

• Operational compliance duties.

• Participate in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.

• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making.

• Ad hoc projects that relate to process improvement and operational expansion.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with month end close procedures

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with various departments

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
