Riverview School Special Event Assistant in East Sandwich, Massachusetts

In this role you will work collaboratively with the marketing & development teams to help facilitate communications, organize & process data, help with fundraising & take lead on various marketing initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to assist with major school events like our annual gala & fall family weekend. This role is intended to be a steppingstone to larger career opportunities within our department through mentorship & experience. The Job: Work with the Advancement team to ensure that the strategic objectives of the school are met, & a consistent tone is reflected in all efforts. Help to create & maintain an annual events Calendar & assess additional event opportunities as they are presented. Organize, update & maintain event files throughout the year. Conduct periodic analysis of events & recommend changes to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Support departmental needs including event logistics, timelines, budgets, communication with venues, vendors, staff & the negotiation of contracts. Fully utilize technology to automate essential elements of planning, tracking & production. Development of forward-facing communications promoting events. Creation of collateral, including invitations & programs. Recruit & manage volunteers to deepen community engagement. All other duties as assigned. Specific Duties: Work in collaboration with the office of Advancement to plan & execute all facets of Riverview?s annual fundraising gala & exp& opportunities for revenue growth. Manage volunteer Gala committee. Coordinate & manage logistics for parent weekends, including Opening Weekend, Fall Family Weekend, Transition Weekend & Alumni Weekend. Help to support Family Association efforts to further strengthen relationships with families. Coordinate with other departments to execute additional school-wide events including but not limited to: Cultural Diversity Day, Staff Appreciation Events, Regional Parent Receptions & Board Receptions. Work with the Advancement team to shape periodic cultivation events for parents. What We?re Looking For: Demonstrated strategic & tactical experience in event planning, logistics, execution, & volunteer engagement. Creativity, flexibility, & the ability to manage multiple priorities & deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently & collaboratively with volunteers, faculty, staff, & vendors. Self-motivated, able to identify opportunities for improvement within existing structures. Highly organized & the ability to present plans clearly & efficiently. Strong oral, written & technology skills. Strong office skills: organization, time management/scheduling, computer literacy, effective communication, interpersonal, problem solving, ability to multi task. Experience with development & fundraising software preferred. 1-3 years event experience. Fundraising event experience preferred. Bachelor?s or Associate Degree Preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of degree Ability to lift up to 30lbs Other Requirements: Suitable background check required (CORI, SORI, DCF & Fingerprinting) Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification.
