WPRI 12 is looking for a creative writer and editor to join our award-winning Creative Services team as a Promotions Producer. If you have a passion for promotion, can work in a fast-paced, deadline drive environment, and have strong writing, shooting, and editing skills - we want to hear from you!
Primary Duties:
Work with Creative Services Director and Creative Services Team to create, write, produce, and edit on-air promos, topicals and image campaigns.
Candidate must be able to work independently or as a team
Must be able to push creative envelope while adhering to brand guidelines
Shoot promotional spots and maintain department production equipment
Produce elements for web and social media
Performs other responsibilities and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of on-air promotion experience as a writer/producer/editor for a local station or cable network working in a news environment
Must have ability to work daytime hours and flexible hours (nights/weekends) when needed
Passion for strong image and promotional writing
Knowledge of broadcast and social media platforms
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Stays up to date with local news
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with all departments
Proven experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop are strongly preferred
Strong non-linear editing skills
Working knowledge with camera, audio, and light equipment
B.S. or B.A. with related experience preferred
Must be able to provide a reel of work examples – include a web address with your resume and cover letter
Valid driver’s license
