Program Specialist

Role Definition:

The Project Manager will provide project and change management for Collaboration Services initiatives that typically impact Microsoft products and services that support the Caterpillar enterprise (105k+ end users). Responsibilities include strategic planning, organizing, managing, and implementing small to complex programs and projects in accordance with project management principles and change management to deliver Workplace Modernization business value, desired outcomes, and a positive customer experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Strategically plan, organize, and implement programs and projects to deliver business value and desired outcomes on time and within budget.

  • Manage internal and potential third-party resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Regularly communicate project status to stakeholders across the enterprise, including IT and Business Unit partners.

  • Identify and address potential risks on projects to stay on track.

  • Decision making and critical thinking to make informed decisions to keep projects on track.

  • Manage day-to-day project activities regarding project responsibilities, schedules, and develop contingency plans for potential risks.

What You Have:

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.

  • Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices, and tools for administering projects.

  • Planning, Tactical and Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business management or desired experience.

Additional Info :

  • The primary locations for this position are Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN.

  • This position requires you to work in the office three times a week.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
