Position Summary
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Unit Human Resources Assistant to assist with both human resources and administrative tasks. This individual will support a variety of related roles for our diverse community including:
Tracking and maintaining files and records including personnel files, organizational charts, remote work agreements, annual reviews, compliance, and professional licensures
Reviewing and providing updates for website directory and faculty profiles
Entering and/or approving time entries and ensuring payroll is approved in timely manner.
Assisting with department hires and reappointments, participating in the onboarding and offboarding process
Assisting with coordination of faculty travel and reimbursements
Providing support to the department’s reappointment, promotion, and tenure (RPT) committee
Supporting department engagement initiatives
Assisting with department projects and improvement initiatives
Providing back up support to front office team, including greeting visitors, sorting mail, answering phones, and other department needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate

MSU Benefits:
The hourly rate for this position is expected to range from $22.53 - $26.44/hr.

Additionally, full-time support staff receive 24 hours ofpersonal leaveper year, which is pro-rated in the first year. New employees are eligible for paidvacation timeafter six months of service. After a 6-month training period, a hybrid schedule may be available, typically involving 4 days per week in the office.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in human resources functions or an area related to departmental operations or employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, Forms, OneDrive and SharePoint
Prior experience working in an academic or healthcare setting
