Position Summary

The coordinator role focuses primarily on professional development opportunities for first-year business students, supervising student leaders, and working with corporate and campus partners to develop co-curricular programming that supports and reinforces the Broad College's strategic themes and the Residential Business Community's (RBC) mission. This position is both rewarding and challenging, and is an amazing opportunity for a talented professional seeking a position with a high degree of student interaction with motivated and driven first-year students. The coordinator will be an exceptional professional who values working in an academic unit in collaboration with faculty, business school professional staff, residence life professionals, graduate and undergraduate student employees, corporate partners, and alumni -- across departmental and organizational boundaries -- to deliver successful programs and services for students. 

The coordinator of the Residential Business Community will foster an atmosphere of professional, academic, and personal leadership and excellence through the cultivation and development of student leaders in the RBC. Reporting to the Director of the RBC, the coordinator will help extend the RBC and Broad College experience beyond the classroom by focusing on the following major areas of responsibility: 

  • Assist with the development and execution of the RBC First Year Experience, including new student orientation, and the RBC Success Series and networking events. 
  • Academic advising for RBC community including new student welcome and orientation.
  • Support Residential Business Community students, program goals and initiatives
  • Assist with curriculum development and facilitation of the BUS 101 Freshman Seminar in Business

Required Degree

Masters -Counseling, higher education or related

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive responsibility in a college/university setting supporting undergraduate students.
  • Teaching and/or curriculum development for first year seminars.
  • Program development, execution, and assessment.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written), organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail, follow-through, and organization.
  • Evidence of successful & maintained positive collaborations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Evidence of contributions to cross-cultural understanding/sensitivity and commitment to diversity.
  • Ability to interpret and implement academic policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to helping others, tolerance for ambiguity, and sense of perspective.
  • High personal accountability.
