Position Summary

The Trail laboratory has two Research Associate positions available.

Responsibilities will include the analysis of RNA-seq data across growth stages of fungal species, comparative analysis of gene expression, and functional analysis of genes using knockout technologies. Timely interpretation, presentation and publication of data is expected.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Microbiology, Genetics or Related

Minimum Requirements

Experience with filamentous fungi is essential. PhD in Microbiology, Genetics or related field completed within the last 2 years.

Desired Qualifications

Competitive candidates will have training in bioinformatics and/or molecular biology of filamentous fungi. A strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills, strong quantitative, written, verbal communication skills, and a publication record commensurate with time since degree completion are preferred. For one of the two positions experience with growth and manipulation of Epichloe or closely related species is highly desirable.
