Position Summary

The research associate will work in collaboration with the Co-Principal Investigator of the EIR Grant, culturally responsive crafting engaging science environments, and graduate students in the Department of Educational Administration to collect qualitative data in rural schools in Alabama and North Carolina. More specifically, the research associate will assist with the development of cases, including interviewing school leaders and teachers in rural schools in Alabama and North Carolina. While work with the EIR grant is primary for this position, the research associate will also support the design and development of research; collect, organize, and analyze data for other rural-focused projects; and author papers with the Co-Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities include working in coordination with the Co-Principal Investigator and other faculty to provide management and leadership for the project; work with a team to plan and write reports, conference papers and journal articles that disseminate the research; and make presentations at regional and national conferences.

The candidate will collaborate with faculty and graduate students in the Department of Educational Administration.

Doctorate

Minimum Requirements

Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in educational leadership or education policy.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership or Policy with a strong background in rural education are strongly preferred. Additionally, candidates with knowledge of mixed-methods or qualitative research and experience in secondary education are highly preferred.
