Michigan State University(MSU) Research Associate-Fixed Term in East Lansing, Michigan
Position Summary
A Research Associate position is available in the Banzhaf Lab in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University.
The research project focuses on:
Machine learning based protein engineering.
Evolutionary computing approaches to synthetic biology.
Developing innovative approaches for medical image processing.
The successful candidate will be expected to write code, conduct simulation experiments, collect and analyze data, give presentations about the research, write papers and provide progress reports to the Principal Investigator, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
This position is a 12-month fixed term appointment. Renewal of position is based on funding and performance.

Required Degree
Doctorate
Minimum Requirements
PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with the following fields:
- evolutionary computing, genetic programming in particular
- machine learning
- experience in computational biology is an advantage
- excellent communication skills are essential
