Position Summary

We seek a Postdoctoral Research Associate to help bring new, high-level quantitative tools to the challenges of wildlife conservation. Responsibilities will include implementing and adapting existing models to evaluate and inform wildlife management decisions. Initial work will link population and epidemiological models to study the role of white-tailed deer harvest on the spread of chronic wasting disease and evaluate population consequences of interactions with other diseases. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to work collaboratively with Boone and Crockett Quantitative Wildlife Center colleagues and our partners, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and communicate research findings to broad audiences.

Doctorate -wildlife, ecology, biometrics or a related

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in wildlife, ecology, biometrics or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

Competitive candidates will have ecological or statistical modeling experience, strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. A research background in population or disease ecology and a publication record commensurate with time since degree completion are preferred. Prior experience interacting with government wildlife agencies is helpful.
