A postdoctoral position is available in the Day Lab at Michigan State University in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences. This postdoc is part of ongoing efforts to characterize the plant response to biotic and abiotic stress, and will utilize computational-, cell biology-, genetics-based approached to model and define the fundamental biochemistry of processes important for plant immunity and low-temperature response. Experience with cell biology modeling and quantitative analysis of gene expression is required. Experience in chromatin immunoprecipitation, CRISPR/Cas design and implementation, and analysis of gene expression in required. Experience with plants is necessary. The Plant Sciences research community at Michigan State University has many shared resources for postdocs to develop into leading academic and industry scientists including weekly seminar series with a focus on project and career development and a postdoc group with monthly meetings.
The position is available immediately and for one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.

Doctorate -Plant Biology
Experience cloning, expressing, purifying and characterizing multiple proteins of interest and a clear vision of how this position is the right next step of your career. A publication record.
Experience in modeling metabolic pathways using systems of ordinary differential equations is helpful, but not required
