Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

The Gynecologic and Environmental Epidemiology Group in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, College of Human Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated research data analyst. This individual will work on epidemiologic projects in the area of toxic metals and women's health. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the research data analyst will assist with the conduct of statistical analyses. Specifically, this individual will help compile laboratory, ultrasound, and questionnaire data from various sources, review the data for quality, derive analytic variables, and conduct multivariable regression, including Cox proportional hazard regression, multivariable linear regression, and unconditional logistic regression. The research data analyst will perform periodical quality control checks of others' analytic programs. This individual will also assist with conducting literature reviews, manuscript preparation, and other work in support of the timely dissemination of research findings.

Desired Qualifications
  • At least a master's degree in Epidemiology or related field
  • Proficiency in statistical programming (SAS, Stata, or R)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing scientific manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
  • Research interest in gynecology and environmental health
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on data analyses and preparing results
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to deliver publishable tables and figures

Strong communication skills, including effective scientific writing skills
