Position Summary

The Department of Marketing, Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University invites applications for a pool of qualified fixed-term instructors to teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Marketing and/or Master of Science in Marketing Research, with possible course creation or additional support for students and/or research.

There is a current need for the 2022-23 academic year in the Master of Science in Marketing Research program for a part-time instructor to create and teach a one-credit online course on Marketing Research Communications and Visualizations; a one-credit in-person or online course in consulting in marketing research; and a one-credit online course in advertising research.   Other courses may be available as well.  

Please note that a position could be part-time or full-time and may vary by semester, depending on the needs of the department.  It is possible that no position will be needed in some semesters. Renewal may be possible based on department teaching needs, funding, and performance.  Salary and terms are negotiable depending on experience and rank.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (minimum needed for title of Assistant Instructor)

The position of Assistant Instructor requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university along with significant experience in the desired area of expertise in which we have need for instructors.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree (minimum needed for title of Instructor)

A Master's degree is preferred however a Bachelor's degree with significant experience in the desired area of expertise is acceptible for Ast. Inst. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and/or significant work experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Marketing Research Communications and Visualizations
  • Consulting in Marketing Research
  • Creating a customer-centric organization
  • Customer Experience Analytics
  • Qualitative Research
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Data Integration and Visualization
